Release: Small Ball Wallace
News, Press Release | 26 Oct 2012"If you don't have a record to run on, you make a big election about small things." -Barack Obama, 2008
(Oklahoma City) - The Oklahoma Republican Party commented today on the newest television ad from 2nd District candidate Rob Wallace:
"Rob Wallace's latest television advertisement proves Barack Obama was actually right about something back in '08 when he said if you don't have a record to run on, you make a big election about small things," said OKGOP Chairman Matt Pinnell. "The ad is untruthful, insulting, and amateurish; just what were you thinking, Rob?"
Wallace’s latest ad repeats blatantly false claims about Markwayne Mullin’s position on water rights and uses the same cartoonish style as previous ads. Wallace has thus far staked nearly his entire campaign on this singular issue.
"Rob Wallace is playing small ball, and it's time he came clean on the big issues that face this country,” continued Pinnell. “These childish television ads are a disservice to the voters of the 2nd District who want to hear the candidates’ plans to get our country back on track.”
Less than two weeks from Election Day, Wallace has still not explained to voters where he stands on issues of vital importance to voters of the 2nd District.
"From Obamacare to the Keystone Pipeline to Obama’s failed stimulus and the President’s plans to increase taxes should he win a second term, Rob Wallace throws around attack after attack to avoid answering the tough questions. It is time for Mr. Wallace to explain to voters where he stands on the policy priorities of the leaders of his party - Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi - rather than lob more false attacks to distract from the issues at hand," concluded Pinnell.
