(Oklahoma City)- Oklahoma Republican Party Chairman Matt Pinnell released the following statement congratulating our Republican Primary winners:

"I would like to congratulate our Republican nominees on their success last night in the Primary Election," said Chairman Pinnell. "Contested primaries are a part of this process and only strengthen our Party. I am confident that our nominees now enter their General Election races in fighting shape, and therefore in a strong position to win this November."

"I would like to also thank those challengers that were ultimately unsuccessful in their efforts," continued Pinnell. "It takes a lot to put your name on the line and run for office, and we thank these conservatives for taking part in a spirited campaign."

"We now look toward the General Election as a unified Party; with the purpose of increasing our common-sense conservative majority in the state legislature, electing a Republican to the 2nd Congressional District, and doing our part to ensure that Barack Obama is a one-term President," concluded Pinnell.
