Unlike 2008, President Obama goes into Wednesday night’s debate with a record. A record he'd rather not talk about: historically high unemployment, skyrocketing debt, and a foreign policy strategy (can you even call it a strategy?) that is failing overseas. He's got nowhere to hide, and it's Mitt's job now to take advantage of it.

In 2008, then-Senator Obama insisted he understood the problems Americans faced and that he could fix them in a single term.

It was a message he echoed after taking office in the now-famous interview of early 2009: "If I don't have this done in three years, then there's going to be a one-term proposition."

Today, of course, we hear a new tune from this president. He insists he didn't fully understand the problems, but if given more time, he can fix them. Unfortunately for President Obama, he made the problems that he speaks of worse!

On the other hand, Governor Romney has a record he doesn't need to hide from; a record I hope he highlights in these upcoming debates.

It begins with a successful time in the private sector building companies, saving businesses, and creating jobs--what President Clinton called "a sterling business career." There is no reason for Romney to apologize for his success, and certainly not to a President with no private sector job experience.

From there, he saved the Salt Lake City Games and as governor of Massachusetts, he got results. He found a $3 billion shortfall, but he left the state with $2 billion in the Rainy Day Fund. He balanced every budget, cut taxes, reduced spending, and presided over significant job growth. All with a Democrat-controlled legislature, I might add.

Two candidates. Two records. One will be hiding from his come Wednesday night, there's no debate about that.
