At the 2012 OKGOP State Convention, in addition to electing delegates to the national convention, the OKGOP elected a National Committeewoman and National Committeeman to new 4-year terms. The National Committewoman and National Committeeman represent Oklahoma on the 168-member Republican National Committee, along with the Chairman of the OKGOP.

Chairman Matt Pinnell and the OKGOP wish to congratulate Carolyn McLarty and Steve Fair on their election to the Republican National Committee.

Carolyn McLarty was reelected to a second term as National Committeewoman, running unopposed. Shortly after her election in 2008, McLarty was instrumental in the founding of the Conservative Steering Committee on the Republican National Committee. Carolyn also currently serves on the RNC Resolutions Committee. Carolyn has served in the past as Woodward County Republican Chairman, President of the Woodward County Republican Women, and 3rd Congressional District Vice Chair. Carolyn and her husband Tom reside in Mutual, Oklahoma. Carolyn had her own veterinary practice in Woodward before retiring in 2007.

Steve Fair was elected to a 4-year term as National Committeeman. Steve Fair is currently in his eighth term as Stephens County Republican Party Chairman. He is also in his third term as 4th District Chairman. Steve has served as State GOP Treasurer and on the State GOP Executive Committee for over ten years. He also serves on the board of the Dewey F. Bartlett Foundation board of directors. Steve and his wife Debbie, the Duncan Middle School Vocal Music Instructor, have been married for 39 years and live outside Duncan, Oklahoma. They have two children and three grandchildren.

Richard Engle of Canadian County, who ran a spirited campaign against Fair, had these congratulatory words: "I want to congratulate Steve Fair on his hard won victory. Every Oklahoma Republican has cause to cheer him on as he moves into this new level of service to the GOP.”

Again, congratulations to both Carolyn and Steve, the OKGOP is certainly blessed to have such an impressive Committeeman and Committeewoman representing our Party at the RNC.
